3 in 1!!

I haven't posted about any cards I have been getting so far.  I plan on starting some sort of a Pack A Day column on Friday, when I pick up a Retail Box of Topps 2013.  But I thought this was kind of cool.

I picked up a few old stock Pokemon cards at Walmart today.  They are from the Call Of Legends expansion.  The first card I saw was this.

Not that exciting.  I have a few of it's evolved forms in my collection, but I don't think I have an Eevee, so that was kind of cool.  Few cards later I found this

That's cool.  I've pulled a couple from Call Of Legends packs, including a Reverse Halo card.  Not to exciting since I have it, but cool that I pulled it in the same pack as Eevee.  But it gets cooler, because this was the last card in the pack.

That's right.  In one pack, I got Eevee as well as two of it's evolved forms!  from a game play stand point, that could be cool or suck, but from a collecting stand point, that is pretty awesome.

Topps Baseball 2013!

Some times I love my local Walmart.  Some times I hate them.  There have been times when they have had stuff like games out as early as the Friday before they are supposed to be released.  Other times, I've gone in several days after the release of a major franchise (like Resident Evil) and not only did they have no copies, they didn't have a spot for them (Which would mean that they were out) and the department manager didn't even know a new one was out till I showed her the game on the Walmart website! (at least they had Legend Of Zelda: Skyward Sword in back.  They finally got Resident Evil 5 a week or two later.)

So imagine my surprise when I found this about an hour ago!

And yes, it is sitting next to the 2012 Update Series Retail Boxes.

I didn't get one.  I wanted to, but I had to get some other stuff and it was either get that stuff (like some Toothpaste ) or get a box of cards.  Chose the stuff I needed instead of what I wanted.  But I will be getting a box on Friday (Payday!) and I did get a couple packs of Topps 2007 and Upper Deck 2010 from the cheap box.

Think I Have A Few Cards From 1992---Update

Just finished sorting all my Topps 1992 cards and entering them into databases.

That little stack in the front is the dupes I pulled out of the other stacks.  Over all, I ended up with 381 cards.   Plus about 200 dupes.  In other wards, I about about half done with the set.  don't think I will be going on Ebay to find the ones I am missing.  at least not yet anyways.

Now on to sorting the Misc Cards box!

Think I Have A Few Cards From 1992

So I was just sorting my Topps 1992 cards into stacks of 100 (1-99, 100-199, ect) and I noticed something.

That red thing?  That is a bin full of duplicates that I found.  It's about 3.5 inches tall and the cards (95% of which are Topps 1992) are about an inch from the top!  There are probably some in the stacks still that I missed, but I will find them soon enough.

I haven't done a check list, but I wouldn't be a bit suprised if I found out that I was missing only a few cards from that year.  I wasn't planning on getting any complete sets other then the 2012 Baseball and Football sets, but I might have to hop on EBay when I finish putting all these cards into binders and see if I can find the few that I am missing.

A Lack Of Twins

I just finished sorting all my Baseball Cards and there were some interesting things I found out.  For example I found out I have 2 Basketball cards to go with my 1 Hokey card.  I also found a couple Football cards that were in there for some unknown reason.  I found out that my collection goes from 1984 through 1993.  Didn't realize I had collected off and on for 9 years, although some of them are in pretty bad shape.  Not sure if I did that or not.  I do remember finding one of them on the playground at school, so I know I am not to blame for that one.  I also found out that my biggest year of collecting was 1992.  I have more 1992 cards in my original collection then all of my cards from the 80s!

I also found something rather disappointing.  See that pic below?  that is apparently the total of all the Twins cards I have in my original collection.  I know I got a few in packs in 1987, and those are in the box with the set, but I figured I would have had some for sure in the 1992 cards, but nope.  It's possile I have some else where or gave them away or something, but it was still rather disappointing that those are all I have in the original collection.

Fortunately after only a few packs from 2012 as well some Mega Packs, I already have more twins cards then I pulled from those old packs.

Getting Started

When I first got back into collecting, I decided to organize all my old cards and put them into binders.  That is my Winter Project for the year.  But I just realized I have a lot of work ahead of me.

Here are all my cards, as well as all my minis.  That green thing in the middle of the one pic?  That is Donatello from the newest Ninja Turtles figures line, added for a sense of scale for the boxes.  I think I have a lot of work ahead of me

And here are my baseball cards.  Not a huge collection, but enough to get started organizing.  I also took a pic of my 1987 and 1991 Twins box sets that I got for Christmas the years they won the world series.  REALLY WANT TO GET ANOTHER ONE OF THESE TWINS!!! AND ONE FOR THE VIKINGS TOO!!!

This is my original card box/a mobile command center for my G.I. Joe guys.  once I filled it up with cards, the Joes didn't ride in it, I just pretended they did.  Then I got the Baseball Card boxes and it was filled with assorted cards.  Can't see all of them, but what can bee seen from here is cards from the first Ninja Turtles movie, Empire Strikes Back (series 2) Batman Returns, and Garbage Pail Kids.  Can also see part of a card from a McDonald's/Vikings promotional set.

This is most of my CCGs.  Not all of them because I couldn't find a binder full of Star Wars TCG cards.  I think they got misplaced when I moved last.  I went looking in my storage shed, but it was getting cold and I couldn't look long.  I'll find them and add them in the spring.  That box on top?  It has some duplicates from the Star Wars TCG, as well as some other games, but is mostly Magic Cards.  that is the closest I ever got to organizing my collection.

All my Minis.  Might not look like much, but most of those boxes are filled to the point that they were hard to close again.  and that box on the right?  All ships from Pirates Of The Spanish Main.  I had a ton of them from when it was really popular at the local coffee shop.  I inherited a collection about the same size as mine from a guy that moved after it was starting to die out and asked if I wanted them.  That binder and that clear box?  Those are mine (as well as another box just like it below the binder) the rest?  His largely unorganized collection.

And this is a box full of cards that I have gotten since I started collecting again, mostly thanks to Mega Packs I have found (100 cards for $5.  great way to get older cards)  I will be sorting these, as well as any other cards I get between now and then, after I have organized my original collection.

Welcome To The Card Corner!

This is a blog I decided to create when I recently got back into card collecting,  A few friends who also collect cards live too far away, so I can't just grab my binders, run over to their place and say "Check out these cool cards I pulled the other day!" so I created this blog so I can show them.

I also made it so I can talk about my collection as well as collection in general.  Might not make many posts, might make a lot.  Only time will tell.
