Championship Edition #4

With the Super Bowl mere hours away (lets be honest, the Pre-Pre-Pre-Pre-Pre-Pre-Pre-Pre-Pre-show already started yesterday) it is time again to see if a pack of cards can predict the winner.

Like always, each card earns that teams conference (AFC or NFC) a point.  Cards for the Patriots and Seahawks earn them 2 points.  Parallels and Inserts will count only if a tie breaker is needed.

So far the cards are 3 for 3.  Lets see if they can continue their undefeated streak.

And for the record, I am cheering for the Seahawks again this year.

NFC (7)
AFC (9)
Shea McClellin (Bears)Ray Rice (Ravens)
Luke Kuechly (Jaguars)Joe Thomas (Browns)
Reggie Bush (Lions)Mohamed Sanu (Bengals)
Brandon Marshall (Bears)Ed Dickson (Ravens)
Aaron Donald (Rams)Matt Prater (Broncos)
Jake Matthews (Falcons)Haloti Ngata (Ravens)
Jared Abbrederis (Packers)Denarius Moore (Raiders)

Martavis Bryant (Steelers)

AJ McCarron (Bengals)
Gold Parallel--DeMarco Murray (Cowboys)
Fantasy Focus--Philip Rivers (Chargers)
1000 Yard Club--Jordy Nelson (Packers)

Not looking the best for the Seahawk.  Lets see if the second half is better to them.

NFC (15)
AFC (17)
Bruce Irvin (Seahawks)Kendall Wright (Titans)
Pierre Thomas (Saints)Antonio Gates (Chargers)
Charles Sims (Buccaneers)Daniel Thomas (Dolphins)
Bobby Wagner (Seahawks)Zach Mettenberger (Titans)
Sean Lee (Cowboys)Darqueze Dennard (Bengals)
Golden Tate (Lions)Vontaze Burfict (Bengals)

Brett Keisel (Steelers)

Mike Williams (Bills)
1963 Mini--Blake Bortles (Jaguars)
Greatness Unleashed (Vernon Davis (49ers)
4000 Yard Club--Matt Ryan (Falcons)

Sad face.  Seems the cards don't agree with me and that the Patriots will win.  That is one of two firsts that will happen this year.  Because either the cards are wrong or the Achievement Hunters are wrong (they said the Seahawks would win, and are currently 2 for 2.  It's Streak VS Streak!!!)

If you want to see the Achievement Hunter's prediction, the video is below (warning, Not family friendly.)

New Card Initiative

So...I have a lot of cards to sort through.  Here is a pic of my work bench right now.

See those things on the second shelf?  Those are blasters of cards I need to sort, as well as some Magic and Pokemon cards (Ignore the Garbage Pail Kids boxes.  Those are there because I had to put them into the database and haven't put them away yet.  And ignore the WWE 2014 box. I'll get to that in a second.)  Those three boxes on the top shelf next to Optimus Prime and behind the hole punch?  Stuff I need to sort.  Under the table are a few more boxes of stuff I need to sort.  Mostly CCGs.  And I have 4 long boxes a friend gave to me of stuff to sort, with more possibly on the way (His parents are moving.  Sad face.)

The boxes on the bottom shelf?  Ignore them.  Those are duplicates.

So I have a bunch of crap to sort.  Part of the problem is depression.  I've battled it for years.  Most of my adult life really.  And one thing several people with depression have in common is trouble cleaning.  They see they need to clean, but are down and don't.  Then, when they are up, they get overwhelmed and go down again.

Cleaning and organizing are the same thing, and can be the same problem.

So I came up with the New Card Initiative.  What is it, other then proof that I like to give stuff official sounding names?  (it was either that or Operation Come Up With A Name For This Operation)  Basically I am starting sort of from scratch.  Before I would get cards, put them in blasters, and then wait and sort a crap load of them all at once.  I would take a box or two, sort them, and then have a few hundred cards to enter into the database.  It was kind of overwhelming.  Now I will sort and enter in the cards as I get them.  That WWE 2014 box I mentioned?  That holds the first cards, Topps Baseball 2014 Update Series.  And for the older stuff I will be sorting just a couple packs (for a hand full for stuff that aren't currently in packs) at a time.  Should work well (I hope.  Fingers crossed.)
