Pack A Day #59

Happy Easter everybody! It's opening day of the Baseball Season!  well, for most people it is.  I don't consider the season to have started yet until the Twins start playing, which is tomarrow, when they will start the season off with a win against the Tigers.  So to celebrate I picked up a blaster of Opening Day 2013

On To The Cards!

Pack 1
Carlos Santana (Indians)
Matt Kemp (Dodgers)
Derek Jeter (Yankees)
Jon Lester (Red Sox)
Carl Crawford (Dodgers)
Miguel Cabrera (Tigers)
          Insert
Opening Day Stars--Matt Kemp

Couldn't resist posting these since I got 2 Matt Kemp cards in the same pack.

Pack 2
Cameron Maybin (Dodgers)
Ben Zobrist (Rays)
Allen Craig (Cardinals)
Brett Gardner (Yankees)
Jesus Montero (Mariners)
Evan Longoria (Rays)
          Insert
Mascot--Gapper (Reds)

I like the Mascot cards.  There should be more recognition for the men and women who put those costumes on in the middle of summer.

 Pack 3
Sergio Romo (Giants)
Shin-Soo Choo (Reds)
Bronson Arroyo (Reds)
Paul Goldschmidt (Diamond Backs)
Carlos Gonzalez (Rockies)
          Inserts
Blue Parallel--Elvis Andrus (Rangers) 1544 of 2013
Superstar Celebrations--Josh Reddick

One thing I don't like about Opening Day is that most of the pics seem to be from the main set.  But Not all of them.  Like this one of Shin-Soo Coo

Pack 4
Darwin Barney (Cubs)
Miguel Montero (Diamondbacks)
Jered Weaver (Angels)
Ervin Santana (Royals)
Tommy Hanson (Angels)
Marco Scutaro (Giants)
          Insert
Ballpark Fun--David Price

Pack 5
Max Scherzer (Tigers)
Buster Posey (Giants)
Jayson Werth (Nationals)
Ian Desmond (Nationals)
Coco Crisp (Athletics)
          Inserts
Play Hard--Matt Kemp
Opening Day Highlights--Felix Hernandez

I love how Coco Crisp is all like "WOOOOO! My name sounds like a breakfast cereal!" and Jason Werth is standing there like he is thinking "I don't need my name to sound like breakfast cereal to be cool."  and then there is another Matt Kemp card, simply because I could.

Pack A Day #58

So I was supposed to get all the work done getting set up for Wrestlemania next Sunday since I forgot to take next Saturday off.  It was either do it this weekend or after work during the week.  Unfortunately I decided to have the Undertaker: The Streak DVD running while I cleaned.

I didn't get much done.

On To The Cards

Aaron Hill (Diamond Backs)
Scott Downs (Angels)
Chris Capuano (Dodgers)
Jose Altuve (Astros)
2012 NL Home Run Headers
Rob Scahill (Rockies)
Jeurys Familia (Mets)
Casey Kotchman (Indians)
Doug Fister (Tigers)
Felipe Paulo (Royals)
          Inserts
Blue Parallel--2012 Al ERA Leaders
Chasing The Dream--Addison Reed

some good cards.  got to love action shots like this.

WWE Heritage 2012

Big Boss Man
Shawn Micheals
Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka
Paul Bearer
Tom Prichard
Brodus Clay
Daniel Bryan
          Inserts
Allen And Ginter--Papa Shango
Ringside Action--Dream Street

This is the first of 2 Blasters I've picked up for WWE Heritage 2012.  And how can you go wrong with Mr Wrestlemania?  Daniel Bryan is one half of Team Hell No, who will be putting the tag belts on the line against Dolph Ziggler and Big E Langston.  And I couldn't resist posting Paul Bearer.  Probably would have anyways, but since he passed away recently, I had to.

BTW.  for those who don't know, Daniel Bryan was trained by Shawn Michaels.

Pack A Day #57

Time to go back into the Baseball box.  This is the best time of the year for Baseball fans.  The 2013 season starts on Sunday.  Time to play ball.

On To The cards

Pack 1
Todd Frazier (Reds)
Dan Uggla (Braves)
Jered Weaver (Angels

Christian Garcia (Nationals)
Heath Bell (Diamondbacks)
Scott Hairston (Mets)
Kyle Kendrick (Phillies)
          Inserts
1972 Mini--Ted Williams
Cut To The Chase--Babe Ruth

Not a bad pack.  few dupes, but not bad.  And you have to love any card with Babe Ruth on it.  seriously, you have to.  I think there is a law about it or something.  In fact, Heath Bell looks like he is about to go Super Saiyan on anyone ho doesn't.

Pack 2
Max Scherzer (Tigers)
Kevin Youklis (White Sox)
Dustin Pedroia (Redsox)
Will Venable (Padres)
Jose Reyes (Blue Jays)

Pack A Day #56

Yesterday I posted the last of the WWE 2012 cards.  I thought about starting WWE Heritage, but decided to wait till tomorrow since I have 3 packs of Magic.

Also, just saw the new trailer for Iron Man 3.  Looks awesome, especially when all the armors show up.  Pretty sure that was a Hulkbuster suit at the end :)

On To The Cards!

Pack 1
Sydney Rice (Seahawks)
Steve Smith (Panthers)
Jared Allen (Vikings)
Jahvid Best (Lions)
          Inserts
Mini Parallel--Dwayne Allen (Colts)
Supernatural Stars--Arian Foster

YAY! Another Viking! Sadly I couldn't find any decent pics of Jared Allen's card.  So here is a pic of a former Viking, Sidney Rice

Pack 2
Rashard Menenhall (Steelers)
Tony Romo (Cowboys)
A.J. Jenkins (49ers)
Brian Quick (Rams)
          Inserts
Mini Parallel--DustinKeller (Jets)
Magical Moments--Torrey Smith

man, I hope I get a Raider in the next pack, because that would mean I got all 4 of the teams I like in this box.  Sadly no pic of his card either, so here are some others I liked from this pack.

Pack 3
Refggie Wayne (Colts)
Emmit Smith (Cowboys)
Randy Moss (49ers)
Greg Childs (Vikings)
Fred Jackson (Bills)
          Insert
Mini Parallel--Drew Brees (Saints)

HOLY CRAP!  Who would have expected to pull a card of Emmitt Smith!  That guy is one of the reasons I started liking the Cowboys (well him and Troy Aikman) And I got a Viking and a former Viking!  Great way to end the box.

Oh, and I also got a mini Drew Brees.  With everything else to post pics of, I figured I would wait till I got the full sized version for him.

Pack A Day #55

I've had a lot of trouble with flats over the years.  It seems my truck is a magnet for anything that can put a hole in my tires.  And I had one when I went out to my truck yesterday.  So I had to fix the tire today, figuring it would take a while.  Found the hole right away and fixed it in under an hour.  Spent the rest of the day until Kids Club watching some Wrestling DVDs.

On To The Cards!

LaMichael James (49ers)
Vick Ballard (Colts)
Devon Still (Bengals)
Isaiah Pead (Rams)
         Inserts
Mini Parallel--Brandon Flowers (Chiefs)
Charismatic Combos--Aaron Rodgers/Greg Jennings

Don't normally post packers cards, but I like the Charismatic Combos.  Plus Rodgers is wearing a throwback jersey, so it isn't as bad cause it doesn't look like a Packers uniform.

WWE 2012

Randy Orton
The Rock
World Class Events--Hell In A Cell
Divas 2012--Natalya
Classic Hall Of Famer--Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat

Sadly this is 4 PACKS!  That's it!  That is all I got from them!  But I got some cards with Mania Matches.  Rock puts the WWE title on the line against John Cena.  Randy Orton is teaming up with Sheamus and Big show to take on The Shield.  Also, how can I be upset when I got a card of the Dragon!  Unfortunately the card hasn't been uploaded anywhere :(

Pack A Day #54

It was really busty at work.  Ok, not that busy, but it was busy for me.  I had to make about 200 sandwiches for a funeral.  And we have another big funeral later this week.  Wonder how many I will have to make for that.

On To The Cards!

Willis McGahee (Broncos)
Fred Davis (Redskins)
Dontari Poe (Chiefs)
Clay Mathews (Packers)
          Inserts
Mini Parallel--Charles Woodson (Packers)
'48 Magic--Doug Martin

I've always liked themed parallels like the '48 Magic cards.  there is just something cool about them.  Speaking of cool, Finally got a card for one of the teams I collect!

WWE 2012

Classic hall Of Famer--"Rowdy" Roddy Piper
John Laurinaitis
Sin Cara
Purple Foil--Rosa Mendes
World Class Events--TLC

Another jumbo with nothing but dupes.  On the bright side, got a card with Rowdy Roddy Piper on it.  Anything with Hot Rod is awesome.  don't believe me?  watch They Live.  'Nuff Said.

Pack A Day #53

The Rock is putting the WWE title on the line against John Cena at Wrestlemania, so what better way to build to that match then to have...a debate.  It worked well though, and Cena showed more passion in his promo about why he had to beat Rock then he has in a long time.  If more of his promos were like that, less people would boo him.

On To The Cards!

Mahamed Sanu (Bengals)
Daryl Richardson (Rams)
Jamal Charles (Chiefs)
          Inserts
Mini Parallel--Dwayne Bowe (Chiefs)
Rookie Enchantment--Doug Martin

Well that didn't take long.  3 packs in and I already pulled my first duplicate.  Oh well.  The Rookie Enchantment cards are awesome! They are the thickness of 2 cards (which is why there are only 5 cards in this pack instead of 6) The second card is a frame for the first!  Very cool.

WWE 2012

Jack Swagger
Johnny Curtis
Blue Parallel--Undertaker
Purple Foil--Cody Rhodes
First Class Champions--Edge

This is all I got out of a Jumbo pack.  21 cards, and this is all that wasn't a duplicate.  Figured no point in posting 16 cards I didn't need.  And I got a card of one of my all time favs, Edge!  Only way that this card could be better is if, instead of the Spinner belt, they used the version he carried, where the WWE logo was replaced with his Rated R logo.  And there are some Mania matches too.  Jack Swagger is facing Alberto Del Rio for the World Title and Johnny Curtis, now called Fandango, is taking on another fav, Chris Jericho.

Pack A Day #52

Been sorting through my Wrestling cards so I can get them into binders by Wrestlemania.  I'll still post about them, but I wanted to get them done and in binders as soon as possible.  And in WWE 2012 I am missing...7 cards.  yep.  1 pack.  Kind of want to get a couple on the off chance that all the cards I need are in them (7 per pack, with inserts taking 1-2 places)

On To The Cards!

Kendall Wright (Titans)
Mohamed Sanu (Bengals)
C.J. Spiller (Bills)
Jeff Fuller (Dolphins)
          Inserts
Mini Parallel--Dwight Jones (Texans)
Supernatural Stars--Andy Dalton

More good looking cards.  I saw someone refer to the look as Comic Book like and I think that fits.  Maybe not the newest issue of X-Men, but defiantly something like DC's Kingdom Come

WWE 2012

Tyler Reks
Ricardo Rodriguez
Beth Phoenix
Triple H
Santino Marella
Tyson Kid
Diva 2012--Cameron

YAY! Triple H!! And Ricardo Rodriguez.  Even when Alberto Del Rio was a heel, people loved that guy.  Seriously.  People were booing Jack Swagger more because he attacked Ricardo then because he attacked Del Rio.

Pack A Day #51

Good news, Bad News.  The good news is that when I picked up the Hanger Box yesterday I was going to get a blaster as well.  Unfortunately they were out.  I don't know if they will stop carrying them or not since there was still a tag on the shelf, but at the moment they didn't have any. The good news is that I planned for this and got a blaster of the alternate to Topps Football 2012, Topps Magic 2012, which is still Football just a different set.

On To The Cards!

Matt Forte (Bears)
Ryan Mathews (Chargers)
Anquan Boldin (Ravens)
Cedric Benson (Packers)
          Inserts
Mini Parallel--Ed Reed (Ravens)
Magical Moments--Tom Brady

I like the look of these cards, and the fact that the pics have more of a painted look to them.  Unfortunately there aren't many pics posted on Trading Card Database but I found this one thanks  to some help from Google.

WWE 2012

Lillian Garcia
Eve
Wade Barrett
Naomi
JTG
Blue Parallel--Christian
First Class Champions--Undertaker

Some decent cards, and I can continue mu Wrestlemania match theme!  Barrett will be putting the Intercontinental Championship on the line against The Miz and of course it wouldn't be Wrestlemania with out the Undertaker.  Although the funny thing is the pic is from last years Wrestlmania (Where Taker didn't compete for a title) and the title shown at the bottom of these cards is the WWE Spinner belt, which Taker never held. (He is a former WWE Heavyweight Champion, but never held the spinner version of the title)

Pack A Day #50--Super Sized Edition #1

YAY! This is the 50th Pack A Day post!  To celebrate I picked up a Topps 2012 Football Hanger box.  72 cards.  As a result, I won't be opening any other cards today.  I think 72 is enough :)

Part 1
David Akers (49ers)
Bernard Scott (Bengals)
Tony Romo (Cowboys)
Jay Cutler (Bears)
James Laurinaitis (Rams)
Joe Thomas (Browns)
J.J. Watt (Texans)
Roy Helu (Redskins)
Dallas Clark (Colts)
Jonathan Stewart (Panthers)
Jeremy MacLin (Eagles)
Mike Thomas (Jaguars)
Malcom Floyd (Chargers)
Denarius Moore (Raiders)
Toby Gerhart (Vikings)
Arian Foster (Texans)
Brent Celek (Eagles)
Vincent Jackson (Buccaneers)
Ray Rice (Ravens)
Brandon Taylor (Chargers)
Chris Givens (Rams)
Lavonte David (Buccaneers)
LaMar Miller (Dolphins)
Coby Fleener (Colts)
Ryan Broyles (Lions)
Travis Benjamin (Browns)
Orson Charles (Bengals)
Sean Lee (Cowboys)
Peyton Hillis (Chiefs)
Terrell Suggs (Rvens)
Steve Smith (Panthers)
Akeem Ayers (Titans)

You know it's going to be a good pack (or box in this case) when you pull guys like Tony Romo and Jay Cutler.  And to throw a Viking in there too just makes this part of the box even better.  As for why I posted a pic of James Laurinaitis, it is because I am watching a DVD of the Road Warriors that WWE released a few years back and James is the son of Animal.

Part 2
Calvin Johnson (Lions)
Daniel Thomas (Dolphins)
Dustin Keller (Jets)
Aaron Rodgers (Packers)
Dexter McCluster (Chiefs)
Devin Hester (Bears)
Michael Vick (Eagles)
John Kuhn (Packers)
John Skelton (Cardinals)
Nate Washington (Texans)
Santana Moss (Redskins)
Randall Cobbn (Packers)
Sean Weatherspoon (Falcons)
Drew Brees (Saints)
Eric  Decker (Broncos)
Jerome Simpson (Vikings)
Dashon Goldson (49ers)
Tim Hightower (Redskins)
Mario Williams (Bills)
Stephon Gilmore (Bills)
Bernard Pierce (Ravens)
Gregg Childs (Vikings)
Jordan White (Jets)
Vinny Curry (Eagles)
Bruce Irvin (Seahawks)
Mark Barron (Buccaneers)
Kirk Cousins (Redskins)
Santino Holmes (Jets)
Steven Jackson (Rams)
Marshawn Lynch (Seahawks)
Carson Palmer (Raiders)

Some more great players.  Another 2 Viking as well, but unfortunately I already have one of them. :(  I was tempted to post a pic of the Aaron Rodgers card, but then I remembered that he is a Packer, and whenever possible, I will never post them or a Yankee (Unless that is the only one worth posting in a pack.)

Part 3
Paramount Pairs--Marques Colston/Darren Sproles
Rookie Reprint--Terry Bradshaw
QB Immortal--Kurt Warner
Game Time Givaway
1957 Green--Michael Floyd
1965 Mini--Patrick Peterson
Prolific Playmakers--Justin Blackmon
Camo Parallel--Roddy White (Falcons) 299 of 399

There are the inserts that came in the box.  Always cool to get a Parallel, and I like the Camo ones.  and another Rookie Reprint!  And only 19 duplicates!  19 out of 72! Obviously I would rather that number be 0 out of 72, but it could also be 72 out of 72, so 19 isn't that bad.
